About Christian Strait
Christian Strait is a visual artist working with photography, layered imagery, and geometric abstraction. His work explores how we experience the natural world—through memory, movement, pattern, and the shifting boundary between what we recognize and what we imagine.
Drawing on landscapes, everyday surroundings, and the night sky, Strait transforms photographic observations into images that invite sustained looking. Multiple viewpoints become impressions of a remembered place; familiar forms unfold into unexpected geometries; astronomical relationships become visible patterns.
In Prisms of Memory, layered photographs bring different perspectives together to evoke the experience of a place. In Constellations, his photographs of the night sky meet visual interpretations of stellar distance and luminosity.
Across these bodies of work, he seeks a sense of discovery: images that can be felt before they are explained, and that offer something different each time we return to them.
